I moved to Raleigh from NJ in 2011 and embraced a more relaxed pace. For relaxation I almost always have my camera with me, never knowing when something awesome might occur to capture with the lens. My professional career began in 2000 as an entry-level graphic artist in print design, I worked alongside the companies freelance designer. At MRM Gillespie, I taught myself Html and in-line CSS to assist the IT department in the beginning and later as an integral part of the Interactive Department in creating, programming, and deploying Html emails for local, national, and international clients at the ad agency. I was designing banners, websites, landing pages, and programming Html Emails, days before modern wire-framing apps were used. Since then I’ve mostly done freelance work for clients, as I continue to learn new software, coding languages to further expand my career options. Just recently finished an online coding Bootcamp, as I continue to teach myself Bootstrap, JavaScript, React, React Native among others.

Working closely with each client from initial design through deployment. Usually going with a WordPress website allowing them to make minor changes, additions to their websites themselves, as well as authorize members of their team to create blog posts. Selecting appropriate images either by the client or stock photography, shaping their copy and design to match their style. After deployment of their new website, I do a walk-through from logging into their new website, where to access the media library, how to create a new blog post, and so forth, I will also provide them with a step-by-step pdf as guidance.
I’ve been creating, programming, testing, and deploying Html emails since 2004 when I started at Gillespie Ad Agency working on emails mostly for pharma companies like Concerta, Motrin, Acuvue, BMS, and non-pharma companies like Verizon Wireless, ETS, Catholic Dioceses. After moving to Raleigh I designed, programmed, tested, and deployed Html emails for automotive clients at 3Birds Marketing. Redesigned Html Email campaigns for Science Fun For Everyone for mobile and desktop users, increasing the open rates and click-through rates of the new templated email campaigns.
Print projects are not as frequent as they are for the web, mobile, digital ads these days. I started my career in Print Design though so it’s always nice to revisit from time to time. Most print-related products stem from logos, stationery, brochures, ads, posters, t-shirt designs, and the designs tie back to the client’s web presence in the look and feel.
Photography allows me to relax, re-connect with nature, see the beauty in my surroundings, and helps clear my mind, I like to explore new locations like abandoned buildings, old structures, flowers, patterns, oddities. Mostly as a hobby, but could be used for projects possibly.
